About Mason's Lasting Legacy

Mason's love for sports, outdoor activities, and the Lord inspired us to honor his legacy by giving children the opportunity to live their lives to a 10, just like he always did.

Do it to a 10!

The Mason Foundation was started in memory of 10 year old Mason Smith. He was known for his bright red mullet, infectious smile, and his love of all things outdoors. Mason wore the number 10 on the back of his baseball jersey, which was fitting because he truly lived his life to a 10 and always gave a 10/10 effort in everything he did. The Mason Foundation is dedicated to honoring Mason’s life by offering support to children who may not have the financial means to participate in sports and other outdoor activities. We want to ensure that all kids have the opportunity to live their lives to a 10, just like Mason did!

Our Why

Mason Smith was only 10 years old when he passed away on April 13, 2024. Though only 10, he led an exceptionally full life. Mason was known for his infectious smile, his trademark red mullet, his kindness, sportsmanship, and his boundless love for life and the Lord.

Mason's spirit was as bright as his red hair, illuminated by his love for Jesus, his family and his passions. Mason had a deep love for the Lord and looked forward to sharing his faith with his friends and teammates. As a family friend, who also works with Mason’s dad as a firefighter, profoundly said, "We save lives every single day but Mason is saving souls". May Mason's memory continue to inspire a love for Jesus, acts of kindness, love, and compassion in the world.

Mason was ALL BOY and he was rarely found sitting inside the house. He constantly kept his family on the go. He played travel baseball and was also part of the Richland Creek Top Guns clay shooting team. If Mason wasn’t at the baseball field or the shooting range, he was outside doing one of his many hobbies. He loved riding his dirt bike, 4-wheeler, and side-by-side, hunting, cutting trails in the woods with his best friend Luke, boating on the lake, cheering on his Clemson Tigers, swimming, putting out corn for the deer, playing basketball and jumping on the trampoline with his sister, doing yard work, and joining his daddy in literally anything they could do outside. He also loved snuggling with his mommy and giving her sugars… even though he tried to act like he didn’t, his precious dimples gave him away everytime!

With Mason being involved in so many activities and hobbies, we know the financial commitment they require. The Mason Foundation was started to honor Mason’s memory and his zest for life. We are dedicated to supporting children who may not have the financial means to participate in the sports and/or outdoor activities they enjoy. We want to ensure that all children have the opportunity to live their life to a 10, just like Mason did!

Mason left us all far too soon, but during the incredible 10 years we were blessed to share with him, he lived every day to the fullest. Mason's life is a testament to living fully and passionately. #DoItToA10

Thank you

There are truly no words to adequately express the amount of gratitude we have for all of the love, support, prayers, kind words, and compassion our family continues to receive. We are deeply touched by all of the thoughtful and countless gestures and stories you have shared about Mason.

I read this quote the other day, "They say you die twice. First when you stop breathing. Then again when your name is spoken for the last time on Earth." Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to all who have donated to The Mason Foundation. Your donation not only ensures that Mason’s name will continue to be said and that his legacy will never be forgotten, but it will also have a huge impact on our ability to help other children live their lives to a 10, just like Mason did!

Thank you all for your support and for loving Mason!
